For my husband and I, the Windmühle is simply the best restaurant in the region. Not only because the food has always exceeded our expectations, but also because of the super friendly and polite staff, who are never intrusive and always try to make you go really well. The cuisine is mainly German, but can of course also be influenced by French and Italian cuisine. The card is manageable and is changed regularly. Care is taken that a lot of the vegetables are cooked with the season and that regional dishes are used in a self-interpreted version. The windmill is also visually an eye-catcher because you are literally in an old converted windmill in the middle of the country. It is furnished in a rustic-chic style, but never looks old-fashioned! Eating in the windmill is simply an experience!

A few months ago I was there with my employees for a small company party. The restaurant is comfortably furnished, the service very friendly. I like to eat steak, but "English". So I placed my order. When our food came to the table, it quickly became clear that my steak was medium rather than English. The degree of cooking differed little from the other medium-ordered steaks. At my objection, the waitress brought the boss, who instructed me how to cook an English steak. I and my staff found this uncomfortable and inappropriate. I turned down the offer to order a new steak, because throwing away such a nice meat didn't deserve to be thrown away. Unfortunately, this was the second case within a year where I didn't feel well looked after. The supposedly rose-roasted lamb at a dinner with my wife last summer was well done. The boss asked me to cut it somewhere else because it was rosy there. This, however, was not the case. Being a good entrepreneur also means being critical. I missed this and was rather patronized. Regular guests may have it better, otherwise I can not explain the many very good reviews.

Quaint ambience and fresh regional ingredients - the right place for a special evening. There might be a few more typical Westphalian dishes on the menu, but the taste was convincing! The portions were more than sufficient and the staff very attentive.

Here we were spoiled with fresh ingredients, homemade sauces and delicious dishes. The waitress showed excellent knowledge of the wines on offer. The atmosphere surprises positively. We are looking forward to the time after Corona and the beautiful beer garden.

This restaurant has clearly earned 5 stars. The food tastes great, the ambience is outstanding and the staff is attentive and fast. The old windmill was excellently converted into a restaurant. Anyone who wants to eat / drink in peace in a great atmosphere can relax here.

Very nice location inside the actual windmill. The food is outstanding and so is the service.

Our visit to the windmill was worth it. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The menu card shows many delicious menus. My pumpkin soup was delicious and nicely decorated. The windmill Schnitzel with fried potatoes was also delicious. We also found the right wine. In summary, the visit was absolutely worth it.

Very friendly staff. They were booked for lunch but made room for our party of 4. Food was delicious and was brought out fast. A bit price but worth it.

Great food and great service. we went on a Sunday and the waitress said they were fully booked, i guess its a popular place for the locals. Even thought she said they were full they still found a table for the four of us. We found the restaurant on TripAdvisor and it said it was a budget restaurant but ones we got there we were surprised to see the prices were a little higher then we expected, most plates were 15 to 20 euros and up. Our server was awesome and spoke very good english.
